Make You Better

It is Tuesday so I am back into the flow of the work week after an obviously abrupt and busy Monday.

Mondays, am I right?

Tuesdays are particullarly better because the new music playlist on Spotify! I get up and turn it on while I’m getting ready for work so i’m always on my music game for the week. The Decemberist released a new song yesterday to tease their upcoming album and I am un-shamefuly overplaying it. I’m going to post a link to it at the end of this post. SO that means you have to actually read all my blabbering about the week. Or just scroll really fast. Or not at all cause you think The Decemberists are hipster losers. Either way, you’re here. Keep reading- there are adorable puppies in this post (besides Portia)

This Monday in particular was rough because this weekend was such a busy weekend! Dinner parties, HALLOWEEN, my sisters birthday, then spending all day Sunday to do all the things I said i’d do?! Nope.

Well I did do one thing- made dog treats! As promised.

Portia, of course, could barely contain herself to wait for them to be cooked .

Portia loved them. I think? Once they were done I think she was overloaded from picking along the way that she was totally un-amored by the finished product.  I had mentioned in my previous post that my sister had bought me the dog bone cookie-cutter and what better way to bring this all full circle by mentioning that the day I was making these treats she picked up her new puppy, Kershaw. Yes, I am a dog auntie! I am super excited for Portia to have a new friend to play with that will be her size. As little Kershaw is a Golden Retriever/Lab mix and Portia’s other dog friends are Boston Terrier’s and Shiba Inu’s.

I’m getting horribly side tracked-

SO, long story short- I MADE THESE TREATS. AND BROUGHT SOME OVER TO THE NEW PUPPY.

My sister’s cat tried to get in on the goods as well.

All in all it was a good weekend. THIS weekend Brett is going to LA for 4 days (Thur-Sun) which means it’s just me and P looking for things to do. I think this weekend, after my weekly Yoga grind, I will try to do something productive with Portia and maybe take some pictures for my blog that aren’t crappy iPhone photos? I’m so lazy about using my DSL.

Here is the recipe I used:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground turmeric or cinnamon (optional)

and special shout out to Portia’s other friends who got in on the goods:
